Is Coleus toxic to pets?
Coleus plants contain diterpenoids and essential oils that can be mildly toxic to domestic pets such as cats and dogs. When ingested, these compounds can cause gastrointestinal upset, including vomiting, diarrhea, and loss of appetite. While generally not fatal, it is best to keep these plants out of reach of curious pets to prevent accidental ingestion and discomfort. If your pet consumes a significant portion of the plant, contact a veterinarian for appropriate guidance and supportive care.
