Is Arnica toxic to pets?
Arnica is considered toxic to pets, including dogs, cats, and horses, if ingested. The plant contains helenalin and other sesquiterpene lactones that can cause severe gastrointestinal irritation, vomiting, diarrhea, increased heart rate, and internal bleeding. Even topical application can be risky if pets lick the area. Keep this plant strictly out of reach of domestic animals, and consult a veterinarian immediately if any accidental ingestion or adverse physical reactions are observed.
