Is Azalea Flower toxic to pets?
Azaleas are extremely toxic to cats, dogs, and horses. The plant contains grayanotoxins in all of its parts, including the leaves, flowers, nectar, and honey made from the nectar. Ingestion can lead to severe clinical signs such as excessive drooling, vomiting, diarrhea, weakness, cardiac arrhythmias, hypotension, central nervous system depression, and in severe, untreated cases, coma or death. Immediate veterinary attention is vital if ingestion is suspected.
