Is Mandarin Orange toxic to pets?
Mandarin orange trees and their fruits contain essential oils and psoralens which can be toxic to domestic pets such as cats, dogs, and horses. Ingestion of the plant parts, especially the peel, can lead to symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, dermatitis, and photosensitivity. It is important to keep pets away from the tree and fallen fruits to prevent gastrointestinal upset and more severe systemic toxic reactions.
