Is Snowdrop toxic to pets?
Galanthus plants contain toxic alkaloids, particularly galanthamine, concentrated primarily in the bulb but also present in the leaves and flowers. Ingestion by cats, dogs, and horses can cause significant adverse health effects including excessive drooling, severe vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, cardiac arrhythmias, and lethargy. Immediate veterinary attention should be sought if an animal is suspected of consuming any part of the snowdrop plant.
