Snowdrop
Galanthus, commonly known as snowdrops, is a small genus of approximately 20 species of bulbous perennial herbaceous plants in the family Amaryllidaceae. Famous for being among the very first flowers to herald the arrival of spring, they often push through late winter snows with their nodding, bell-shaped white blooms featuring distinctive green markings on their inner segments. Native to large parts of Europe and the Middle East, these resilient little plants thrive in cool woodland conditions and are widely cultivated in gardens across the temperate world for their delicate beauty and early seasonal interest.
