Is Bluebells toxic to pets?
Bluebells contain toxic glycosides similar to those found in foxgloves and scilla, which can cause severe gastrointestinal distress, vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, cardiac arrhythmias, and potential neurological symptoms if ingested by dogs, cats, or horses. All parts of the plant, especially the bulbs, are poisonous. Immediate veterinary attention should be sought if an animal is suspected of consuming any portion of this woodland wildflower.
