Is Tasmanian Blue Gum toxic to pets?
The Tasmanian Blue Gum contains toxic compounds such as eucalyptol and essential oils that are harmful to pets, including cats and dogs. Ingestion of leaves, bark, or essential oil extracts can lead to severe gastrointestinal irritation, excessive drooling, vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, and weakness. In larger quantities, neurological signs such as central nervous system depression or tremors may occur, requiring immediate veterinary attention if any part of the plant is consumed by household animals.
