Is Macadamia Nut Tree toxic to pets?
Macadamia nuts are known to be severely toxic to dogs, causing a condition known as macadamia nut toxicosis. Ingestion can lead to symptoms such as weakness, depression, vomiting, tremors, hyperthermia, and ataxia within twelve hours of consumption. Although most dogs recover fully within 24 to 48 hours with supportive veterinary care, pet owners must ensure that dogs are strictly kept away from both the raw and roasted nuts as well as any baked goods containing macadamia ingredients.
