Is Mango toxic to pets?
Mango trees and their fruits contain certain compounds such as urushiol in the sap and skin, which can cause mild to moderate gastrointestinal irritation in pets like dogs and cats if ingested in large quantities. Additionally, the large wooden pit poses a significant choking hazard and can cause severe intestinal obstruction if swallowed by curious animals. While the fleshy part of the fruit is generally safe in extreme moderation, pet owners should exercise caution to keep pets away from the leaves, bark, sap, and pits of the mango tree.
