Is Crown of Thorns toxic to pets?
The Crown of Thorns plant contains a milky white latex sap in its stems and leaves that is highly toxic to cats, dogs, and other household pets. Ingestion of any part of the plant can cause severe irritation to the mouth, tongue, and stomach, often leading to excessive drooling, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. Additionally, direct contact with the sap can cause painful skin irritation, redness, and eye damage if it comes into contact with the eyes.
