Is Pelargonium toxic to pets?
Pelargonium species contain essential oils such as geraniol and linalool, which are toxic to domestic pets including cats and dogs. Ingestion of any part of the plant can lead to clinical symptoms such as vomiting, loss of appetite, abdominal pain, lethargy, and mild dermatitis from skin contact. Pet owners should ensure these plants are kept well out of reach of curious animals to prevent accidental poisoning and consult a veterinarian immediately if ingestion is suspected.
