Is Pine Tree toxic to pets?
Pine needles, sap, and wood can be toxic to pets if ingested in large quantities. The needles can cause gastrointestinal irritation, vomiting, and diarrhea in dogs and cats. Additionally, the sharp needles can potentially cause punctures or obstructions in the digestive tract. Pine sap may also cause skin irritation and contact dermatitis. It is recommended to keep pets away from fallen pine needles and fresh Christmas trees.
