Is Bleeding Heart toxic to pets?
Bleeding heart plants are toxic to cats, dogs, and horses. They contain isoquinoline-like alkaloids which can cause severe vomiting, tremors, excessive drooling, and convulsions if ingested in sufficient quantities. Pet owners should plant them well out of reach or avoid them entirely in yards frequented by curious animals.
