Is Dutch Hyacinth toxic to pets?
Dutch Hyacinths contain calcium oxalate crystals, particularly concentrated in the bulbous roots, which are extremely toxic to cats and dogs. Ingestion of any part of the plant can cause severe irritation to the mouth, intense burning sensation, excessive drooling, vomiting, and diarrhea. If your pet consumes any portion of this plant, immediate veterinary attention is strongly recommended to manage symptoms and prevent severe dehydration or complications.
