Is Zonal Geranium toxic to pets?
According to the ASPCA, zonal geraniums are toxic to cats, dogs, and horses. They contain essential oils such as geraniol and linalool, as well as poisonous compounds that can cause clinical symptoms including vomiting, anorexia, lethargy, and occasionally dermatitis upon contact with the plant sap. Pet owners should keep these plants out of reach of domestic animals and consult a veterinarian immediately if ingestion is suspected.
