Is Silver Pothos toxic to pets?
The Silver Pothos is toxic to cats, dogs, and other household pets due to the presence of insoluble calcium oxalate crystals. When a pet chews or bites into the leaves or stems of the plant, these microscopic needle-like crystals are released, causing immediate irritation to the mouth, tongue, and lips. Symptoms of ingestion can include excessive drooling, intense burning sensations, difficulty swallowing, vomiting, and foaming at the mouth. It is very important to keep this plant completely out of reach of curious pets to prevent accidental ingestion and severe discomfort.
