Cheesewood

Cheesewood, scientifically known as Pittosporum undulatum, is an evergreen tree or large shrub native to the eastern coast of Australia. It is widely recognized for its glossy, undulating dark green leaves and highly fragrant, creamy-white flowers that bloom in the spring, releasing a sweet aroma reminiscent of orange blossoms. The plant produces distinctive orange-yellow capsules that split open to reveal sticky, resinous seeds. Because of its dense canopy and adaptability, cheesewood is frequently cultivated as an ornamental garden plant and street tree in temperate and subtropical regions around the world. However, in certain areas outside its native habitat, it can behave as an aggressive invasive species, successfully colonizing native bushlands and outcompeting local flora.
