Cupuaçu
Cupuaçu is a tropical rain forest tree related to cacao, native to the Amazon basin. It is widely cultivated for its large, fragrant fruit, which is highly prized across South America for its unique tropical flavor resembling a blend of chocolate and pineapple. The creamy pulp of the fruit is extensively used in the preparation of juices, nectars, ice creams, and various desserts, while the fat extracted from its seeds, known as cupuaçu butter, is exceptionally valued in the cosmetic industry for its remarkable moisturizing properties, often compared to cocoa butter but with superior water-absorption capacity.
