Angel's Trumpet

Angel's trumpet is a stunning and dramatic tropical woody shrub or small tree renowned for its massive, pendulous, trumpet-shaped flowers that release a potent and intoxicating fragrance, especially during the evening hours. Native to the valleys and slopes of the Andes Mountains in South America, these plants thrive in warm, frost-free climates and can grow quite large under optimal conditions. Every part of the angel's trumpet plant contains dangerous tropane alkaloids, making it extremely toxic to humans, pets, and livestock if ingested. Despite their high toxicity, they remain immensely popular in ornamental horticulture for their exotic appearance and dramatic visual impact in gardens and large containers.
