Astilbe

Astilbe is a stunning genus of rhizomatous perennial flowering plants native to ravines and moist woodlands in Asia and North America. Renowned for their feathery, plume-like flower panicles that rise gracefully above deeply divided, fern-like foliage, these versatile plants are a favorite in shaded garden landscapes. They thrive in damp, humus-rich soils and bring vibrant splashes of pink, red, white, and purple color during the late spring and summer months. Because of their striking texture and shade tolerance, they are widely used in woodland gardens, shaded borders, and alongside ponds or streams where consistent moisture is readily available to support their lush growth.
