Butterfly Weed

Butterfly Weed, scientifically known as Asclepias tuberosa, is a stunning North American native perennial plant celebrated for its vibrant clusters of bright orange, yellow, or red flowers. Unlike other milkweeds, it lacks milky sap, but it serves as an indispensable host and nectar plant for monarch butterflies and various other pollinators. Thriving in poor, well-draining soils and full sun, this drought-tolerant beauty adds incredible visual appeal to naturalistic gardens, wildflower meadows, and native landscapes while supporting declining pollinator populations.
