Pomelo
The pomelo, scientifically known as Citrus maxima, is the largest citrus fruit and the natural ancestor of the modern grapefruit. Native to Southeast Asia, this majestic evergreen tree produces large, thick-rinded fruits with sweet, juicy vesicles inside that are widely enjoyed fresh or used in various culinary preparations. The tree features glossy, dark green leaves and fragrant white flowers that bloom profusely during the spring season. Cultivating a pomelo tree requires a warm tropical or subtropical climate, abundant sunshine, and well-draining soil to thrive and produce its signature oversized, delicious fruits.
