Burro's Tail

Burro's Tail

Burro's Tail, scientifically known as Sedum morganianum, is a popular succulent plant belonging to the Crassulaceae family, native to Honduras and Mexico. It is widely celebrated for its striking trailing stems that can grow up to 60 centimeters long, densely packed with overlapping, fleshy, blue-green to gray-green leaves that resemble braids or tails. Because of its cascading growth habit, it is most frequently displayed in hanging baskets or elevated pots where its long stems can drape gracefully without being crushed. As a succulent, it stores water efficiently within its plump leaves, allowing it to withstand periods of drought. However, its leaves are notoriously fragile and tend to detach easily upon the slightest touch, which requires careful placement away from high-traffic areas or playful pets. It thrives in bright, indirect to direct sunlight and requires well-draining soil to prevent root rot, making it a delightful yet manageable choice for indoor plant enthusiasts.
