Hyssop

Hyssop

Hyssop is a perennial evergreen shrub belonging to the mint family, Lamiaceae. Native to Southern Europe, the Middle East, and the regions surrounding the Caspian Sea, it has been cultivated for centuries for its aromatic properties, culinary uses, and traditional medicinal applications. The plant produces narrow, dark green leaves and vibrant spikes of blue, purple, pink, or white flowers that heavily attract pollinators such as bees and butterflies. Hyssop is exceptionally resilient, drought-tolerant, and thrives in poor, well-drained soils under full sun exposure. It is frequently grown in herb gardens and companion planting schemes to deter pests and enhance biodiversity.
