Impatiens

Impatiens is a popular genus of flowering plants grown extensively in gardens and containers for their brightly colored blooms that brighten up shady areas. Known commonly as busy lizzies or touch-me-nots, these plants thrive in moist, well-draining soils and partial to full shade environments. They offer continuous blooms throughout the spring and summer seasons, making them a favorite for border plantings, hanging baskets, and patio pots. The plants typically feature succulent stems and simple, bright green leaves. Their common name 'touch-me-not' refers to the explosive seed capsules that ripen and burst open when touched, dispersing seeds over a wide area to ensure future generations.
