Catmint

Catmint, scientifically known as Nepeta cataria, is a popular and resilient perennial herb belonging to the mint family, Lamiaceae. Renowned for its ability to drive cats wild with its aromatic foliage, catmint also serves as a stunning, low-maintenance ornamental garden plant featuring grayish-green leaves and clusters of delicate blue or lavender flowers. It thrives in full sun and well-drained soils, making it an exceptional choice for border fronts, rock gardens, and pollinator attractors. Beyond its aesthetic and feline appeal, catmint has a rich history of traditional herbal use, often brewed into a calming tea to soothe digestive discomfort and promote relaxation.
