Mulberry Tree
The mulberry tree is a fast-growing deciduous plant belonging to the Moraceae family, widely recognized for its lush foliage and sweet, edible fruit resembling blackberries. Native to temperate and subtropical regions of the Northern Hemisphere, these resilient trees have been cultivated for centuries, primarily historically for silkworm larvae which feed exclusively on their leaves. Mulberry trees adapt remarkably well to various environmental conditions, featuring serrated, sometimes lobed leaves and inconspicuous flowers that develop into aggregate fruits ranging in color from white and red to deep purple-black. They are exceptionally hardy, thriving in urban landscapes as well as rural orchards, providing abundant shade, wildlife attraction, and delicious seasonal harvests.
