Wild Strawberry
The wild strawberry is a perennial herbaceous plant in the rose family that produces small, edible, highly flavorful red fruits. Naturally found throughout the temperate Northern Hemisphere, it spreads easily via underground runners and creeping above-ground stolons. The plant features trifoliate green leaves with serrated edges and produces delicate white flowers featuring five petals during the spring season. While smaller than cultivated garden strawberries, wild strawberries are exceptionally prized for their intense aromatic sweetness and superior fragrance. They thrive in forest edges, clearings, and woodland paths where they receive filtered sunlight and rich, moist soil.
