Spearmint

Spearmint is a vigorous, rhizomatous perennial herb native to Europe and southwestern Asia, widely cultivated for its fragrant, serrated leaves and refreshing culinary and medicinal properties. Belonging to the Lamiaceae family, it typically produces spikes of pink or white flowers and spreads rapidly through underground runners, making it an excellent yet invasive garden addition if left uncontained. The leaves contain aromatic essential oils, primarily carvone, giving the plant its distinct sweet and minty flavor profile that is widely utilized in teas, beverages, candies, and various culinary dishes across the globe.
