Jasmine

Jasmine is a very popular genus of shrubs and vines belonging to the olive family, Oleaceae. Containing around 200 species native to tropical and warm temperate regions of the Old World, jasmine is widely cultivated for the intense, sweet fragrance of its characteristic white or yellow flowers. Many species grow as climbers using their twining stems to ascend supports. The flowers are frequently harvested for use in perfumery, religious ceremonies, and especially for scenting teas such as jasmine green tea. They thrive in warm climates and require careful management of soil moisture and sunlight to produce abundant blossoms throughout their growing season.
