Canna

Canna is a genus of seventeen species of flowering plants and the only genus in the family Cannaceae. Closely related to gingers, heliconias, and bananas, cannas feature large, tropical-looking foliage and striking, brightly colored flowers that bloom throughout the summer and into autumn. They are exceptionally popular in ornamental gardening due to their bold architectural presence, vibrant red, orange, yellow, or pink blossoms, and ease of cultivation in warm climates. While often treated as annuals in colder regions, these robust perennials grow from underground rhizomes and can reach impressive heights, making them a favorite focal point for garden beds, borders, and large container plantings.
