Canna Lily
The canna lily is a striking tropical and subtropical perennial plant known for its large, banana-like foliage and brilliant, orchid-like flowers in shades of red, yellow, orange, and pink. Originating from the Americas and parts of Asia, these robust plants thrive in warm climates and damp environments, frequently being used as dramatic focal points in gardens and large containers. Although they are technically perennials in frost-free regions, they are often treated as annuals or stored as dormant rhizomes over winter in colder climates. Their showy blossoms attract various pollinators such as hummingbirds and bees, enhancing backyard biodiversity.
