Ash Tree
The ash tree is a magnificent, large deciduous tree belonging to the olive family, Oleaceae. Renowned for its strong, flexible wood and distinctive compound leaves, ash trees are widely distributed across temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere. They feature deeply furrowed bark on mature specimens and produce winged seeds commonly known as keys or samaras. Unfortunately, many ash species currently face severe threats from invasive pests like the emerald ash borer, making conservation efforts increasingly vital for preserving these ecologically and economically important landscape trees.
