Bidens

Bidens is a diverse genus of flowering plants belonging to the aster family, Asteraceae. Commonly known as beggarticks or burr marigolds, these plants are celebrated for their bright, cheerful daisy-like flowers which typically feature vibrant yellow or orange hues. They are exceptionally hardy and adaptable, often thriving in a variety of environments from disturbed soils to sunny garden beds. Many species within this genus are popular in ornamental horticulture, particularly as trailing plants in hanging baskets or ground covers, due to their ability to produce continuous blooms throughout the growing season and attract numerous beneficial pollinators like bees and butterflies.
